phpBB version 3 came out a ways back. http://www.phpbb.com/ . Upgrading may be necessary eventually since 2.x is going to be obsolete soon and security holes may be of a concern in the "future".

A suggestion: you could try FluxBB ( @http://www.fluxbb.org/ ). It is very clean, simple, and lightweight. It is missing a few features such as private messaging, bookmarks, and CAPTCHAs, however.

The Arch Linux Forum uses it, which is from where I am most familiar with it.

Thanks for this interesting suggestion. I didn't know about FluxBB, need to study it more. And moving to other software may be necessary sooner than I planned.

At present, the @http://fluxbb.org/resources/translations/ language packs page is offline. "Wojnar" appears to be the one to go to for the Polish language pack, as I do not see any public downloads anywhere.

Yes,, after considering and exploring a little, I feel that still using phpBB will be a better solution, of course the newest version. I will do that later.
