Hello people!
My name is Adam. My intention is to become an inediate. I will use this introduction thread to journal my process toward this goal.
My approach is based on intermittent fasting, with progressively longer fasts. I am a vegetarian but not vegan. During my eating windows I allow myself to eat as much as I want. During my fasts I drink coffee, tea and other beverages with "practically no calories". My initial goal is to become food free (only consuming water).
What have I done so far?
About 1.5 years ago I started experimenting with intermittent fasting. I started by doing daily 12-hour fasts. The next step was to establish a pattern of eating every other day, i.e. doing a 24-hour fast on every 48-hour period. In the beginning it was a bit sporadic, but since june 24 of this year I have been following a strict schedule of every-other-day fasting.
Then on august 9 I began increasing the length of the fasts by 1 hour per fast. So for aug 9-10 I fasted 25 hours out of 48, for aug 11-12 I fasted 26 hours out of 48, and so on until my last completed fast for sep 10-11 which lasted 41 hours. My current fast (for today and tomorrow) started this morning and is scheduled to last for 42 hours.
So far, this has been a smooth ride. The gradual approach seems to work very well for me.
The immediate plan is to continue increasing the fasting lengths, 1 hour at a time, until I reach 47 hours out of 48 for september 22-23.
Then for the next phase I will step up the cycle length from 48 hours to 72 hours (from 2 to 3 days), so that the following fast (for sept 24-26) will last 48 hours out of 72, i.e. 2 days out of 3. I will then continue to gradually increase the fasting lengths until reaching 71h/72, at which point I will step up the cycle length again from 72h to 96h, i.e. fasting 3 days out of 4. When I have reached that point I will have a clearer view on how to proceed.
Well, that's the Plan anyway. However, Reality can be a bitch sometimes
[edit: changed the thread title to something a bit more affirmative] |

Attended a friend's birthday party today, and felt socially obligated to eat with the others. Thus I broke my planned 50-hour fast for sep30-oct02 after 21 hours, 29 hours early. I will add these 29 hours to my next fast to get back on track.
Current weight: 76.6 kg. |

Ending current fast after 66 hours.
Current weight: 74.9 kg.
My intention was to fast for 80 hours to get back on schedule after my previous fast which ended prematurely (see last post). But I'm feeling a bit weak / shaky, and I don't want to push myself too hard, so I'll break the fast now.
Anyway, I consider this a partial success. I completed my scheduled 51-hour fast for oct3-5, plus I recouped 15 of the 29 hours I was behind schedule. So now I'm only 14 hours behind. |

Wiley Brooks says that Aspartame is a 5d substance
I also found it interesting when he talks about the desert being the best place to be and not necessarily forests etc. |
