|

Had some-one told me a few years ago that humans didn't need physical food to survive, I would have struggled to believe it. I'm sure many people in this forum feel the same way.
I wonder if there are people out there who have managed to eliminate the need for SLEEP?
Does any-one have any knowledge or thoughts on this? |

Yes, but it is too complicated to formulate a usefull opinion.
I'll post again when I think of some practical application to the topic. |

Yogananda wrote (in his Autobiography of a Yogi) that many yogis didn't need to sleep. They did, however, meditate for up to 20 hours a day!
About 30 years ago I took the Silva Method training https://www.silvamethod.com/ in which participants were shown how to get to the level of alpha brainwaves. It was recommended we could use the technique when we were very tired but needed to get something done. |

I would love to know more about this too. Supposedly not eating or drinking leads to not having to sleep for some reason, or at least a good less need for sleep. |

Which makes you wonder what we'd do with all that extra time. |

For my part I am not sure I am still sleeping at night,
Since about a few weeks I do not manage to sleep long ,
Sometimes I still sleep because I dream but the dreams I make seems much more realistic like as if they were giving me answers or bringing to light things that I was not aware from my subconscious, sometimes I am not even sure I really sleep, it seems more like a different state of mind that is more dreamy. As deep meditation maybe. |

Brilliant!
I am sleeping much less these days. I go to bed usually around 11pm then several nights a week it's not long before I get up again and read a book, usually till about 0200 but sonetimes much longer. I still get up around 0700. Next night I'll zonk out early and sleep eight hours.
I've noticed my mood is better on very little sleep, and a 'full' night often makes me feel depressed. Like everything else, it's a work in progress. |

In order to eliminate the need for sleep, you need to sleep every other night until you reach 7 days. From then on you shouldn't need anymore sleep. You need to come off it like any other drug. |

I doubt that's true unless you're already super-healthy. A major part of sleep is about mind and body healing.
For me, the order goes like this:
1. addictions, including alcohol and prescribed drugs
2. animal-based foods, including eggs and dairy
3. all other foods
I believe in drinking lots of water at this point, and deep breathing. Both are cleansing. It seems highly likely to me that there's a reduced need for water after that point, although I've never got there myself.
A work in progress. |

Idk if sleep is for healing as much as people say it is. I wonder if the body gets addicted to the chemicals the body produces as we do sleep. I think anything that makes one become unconscious is a drug. |
