Okay, when I did the fast I enjoyed so much -- exactly 45 years ago -- I was younger and fitter.
I was already a smoker and a coffee-drinker, but it took me many more years to realise what addiction is.

The time seemed right to start again, so here I am.
My last square meal was July 27 (a week ago), when I used up most of my perishables.
Tuesday I enjoyed the remaining cherries.
A bit of cheese Wednesday.
Bit of a blip (cheese and biscuits) Thursday.
A full-fat coffee from a high-street shop Saturday.
Biscuits (no cheese) yesterday, then an egg on toast (no butter) last night, or I wouldn't have slept.

I know it's the cigarettes that are holding things up.
Can't give up cigarettes while eating, can't stop eating while smoking.
The two have to be simultaneous.
My dream is to live on water for a while as I did in August 1975.
I will persist, and be careful.
